What is IOP Intensive Outpatient Program Rehab Treatment?
IOP Minimum Attendance Requirement: 9 hours a week, 3 hours per session. Day and Evening Sessions are Available.
Intensive outpatient programs IOPs work best for individuals with substance use disorders (including dual diagnosis) who do not require medical detox or 24-hour supervision. Customized treatment plans are developed for each client.
An IOP is an opportunity for individuals to continue addiction recovery after residential rehab. This includes those with dual diagnosis issues such as depression, anxiety or other mental health issues.
Our IOP treatment seeks to establish psychosocial supports and facilitate relapse prevention and coping strategies. Outpatient addiction treatment includes EMDR and Brainspotting with CADC II and Masters Level counselors.
Evening groups are available so that clients are able to meet home, work, and school commitments. Individual therapy is also part of IOP and integrates care for co-occurring disorders (such as depression, anxiety, or trauma) as part of the treatment process. Random drug testing is also part of the IOP process.
IOP is transitional in nature and includes two specific step-down phases.
In addition to group sessions, each client meets with a counselor each week to individualize their treatment experience. Recovery Happens IOP is dedicated to providing optimal care for each client’s unique needs.
Additional Program Benefits
An additional recovery resiliency component in our intensive outpatient program includes a rotating six-week Brainspotting and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) curriculum.
These sessions include a mix of traditional and collegiate clients.
Group participants focus on the following six specific areas during treatment:
1. Life Skills Training
2. Mindfulness
3. Interpersonal Effectiveness
4. Emotional Regulation
5. Distress Tolerance
6. Relapse Prevention
What is PHP Partial Hospitalization Program ‘Day’ Rehab?
PHP Minimum Attendance Requirement: 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Addiction recovery treatment in our PHP Program includes a variety of evidence-based modalities that address the patient’s substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues (dual diagnosis). Our treatment team provides support to patients and their families on the road to recovery in a very structured environment.
The clinical team designs an individualized treatment plan for each patient that comprehensively addresses the addiction and mental health needs of PHP patients.
PHP patients participate in therapy based on:
• Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
• Brainspotting
• Sensory Modulation
• Individual and Family Therapy
PHP Partial Hospitalization Programs are sometimes known as “day rehab”. This program provides intensive treatment while allowing spending evenings at home. Customized treatment plans are developed for each client.
PHP is a good choice for individuals:
• With a higher chance of relapse.
• Who have had previous severe episodes of addiction and/or overdose.
• Who are unsure about managing their cravings.
• Anyone who is more comfortable with additional support and treatment.
Major Differences between Inpatient Residential Treatment and our PHP program:
• The partial hospitalization program has a structured – but less restricted – rehab experience than residential treatment.
• PHP is designed for those who do not meet the medical necessity for a higher level of care.
Our PHP patients have access to therapy, counseling, and aftercare support for a minimum of six hours per day, five days per week.
Customized treatment plans are developed for each client.
The partial hospitalization program offers a structured – but less restricted – rehab experience. It is designed for those who do not meet the medical necessity for a higher level of care.
Completion of residential rehab treatment is not required for participation in our Partial Hospitalization Program. However, many individuals find that PHP is an ideal transition from residential rehab treatment to independent living.

Our treatment team provides support to patients and their families on the road to recovery in a very structured environment.
What is MAT Medication Assisted Treatment?
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole patient approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Medications used in MAT are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). MAT programs are clinically driven and tailored to meet each patient’s needs.
MAT is used for the treatment of addiction to opioids such as heroin and prescription pain relievers. MAT is also effective for treating addiction to alcohol.
Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorders. For some individuals struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery. MAT is also used to prevent or reduce opioid overdose.
